Ever since I became a mom, my hands have been extremely dry. I tried dozens of creams and nothing was working. Everyone kept telling me that I needed to drink more water, but trust me, there was no more room for H20 in my body!
I decided to take matters in my own hands and create my own nourishing hand scrub. Using very simple ingredients, coconut oil and brown sugar along with any essential oils of my liking (can you tell which scents I prefer?). Ever since I started using the scrub my hands have been so smooth and soft that I don’t even need a moisturizer.
It was important for me to find something naturally made as my daughter is well into the phase of “everything in my mouth”, which includes my fingers. The last thing I need is her to taste and ingest harsh chemicals from a hand moisturizer.
I leave my jar in my bathroom and once a day I use it at least once a day.
This would be a great Mother’s Day gift, because all moms want to feel some sort of pampering everyday and the fact it is all natural makes it a win win!
Recipe:
1 part coconut oil
1 part brown sugar (or half depending on the consistency you you would like)
10-15 drops of your favourite essential oil (I prefer lemon, lavender or rose petals)
